1. Introduction
I am committed to making my websites and digital publications accessible in accordance with the German Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), based on the EU Web Accessibility Directive 2016/2102.
My goal is to provide equal access to information and services for all users, regardless of physical or cognitive abilities.
2. Compliance Status
The GfA websites are largely compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
This assessment was conducted in October 2025 using WebAbility.io Accessibility Audit, complemented by manual checks with WAVE and NVDA screen readers.
Non-accessible content may include:
Older PDF files not yet fully tagged for accessibility.
Multimedia content without full captioning or audio descriptions.
Third-party embeds (e.g., Spotify, YouTube) beyond our direct control.
3. Measures to Ensure Accessibility
Implementation of WebAbility.io accessibility profiles and screenreader support.
Consistent use of semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks.
Ongoing editor training on inclusive content creation.
Periodic audits before major site updates.
